Babar Azam crashes yet another global record for T20.


Most successful batsman for Pakistan, Babar Azam, makes history while becoming one of the quickest players in T20 cricket history to amass 10,000 runs.

 
While participating for Peshawar Zalmi in the current Pakistan Super League (PSL), he reached this milestone in 271 innings. Azam broke Chris Gayle's previous record, which he had held for 285 innings to achieve it.


Azam's amazing achievement came in a game against the Karachi Kings; he needed just six runs to reach the mark, which he did with ease. Azam has played T20 cricket for 19 different teams in his career.

The players who scored 10,000 runs in the fewest innings are listed below:

  • Chris Gayle: 285 innings
  • Virat Kohli: 299 innings
  • David Warner: 303 innings
  • Aaron Finch: 327 innings
  • Jos Buttler: 350 innings
